Please update any bookmarks.These educational programs are specifically designed for preschool-age children.  Each 35-45 minute program offers a basic introduction to a different subject.  Children enjoy engaging demonstrations, perform simple experiments and will discover how science can help us better understand the world around us!

OCEAN ANIMALS

Discover interesting facts about many different animals that live under the sea!  Learn how some of these creatures eat and digest food.  Grow your own special creature to take home in a mini-aquarium!    

 

SPACE EXPLORATIONS

Meet our “Space Monkey” as you find out why his suit is so important.  Use toilet paper to learn about the inner and outer planets and their distances from each other.  Play a fun game while discovering cool facts about the stars and comets.  Take your own “Strip of Space” home! 

 

THINGS THAT FLY

Learn about the 4 components of flight and take part in a way tug of war to demonstrate its properties.  Test to see how powerful moving air can be as it lifts som  e heavy objects right before your own eyes.  Create some really cool flyers to take with you!

 

ENERGY AND MOTION

Ribbon dancers, wooden snakes and eye poppers are just a few of the fun items that kids experiment with to learn about movement.  Potential and kinetic energy are discussed while the kids explore various toys that are based on those principles.

 

SHIPS

Learn about different ships and the materials used to make them.  Experiment with various materials to discover objects that will float in regular and salt water.  Discuss ways that ships are powered and make your own cool ship to take home!

 

BAFFLING BATS

Which animals are nocturnal?  Discover other cool characteristics about bats as you play a fun sound game.  Experiment with the sound effects generator to make a “batty” noise.  Make a bat puppet to take home! 

 

MAGICAL MAGNETS

Find out everything you need to know about the north and south poles of magnets.  Test ordinary objects for magnetism.  Take part in activities with various magnets to see if they work through sand, water and even a human hand!

 

FLUTTERING BIRDS

Which birds are more colorful, males or females?  Find out the answer to this question and many more when you learn all about our feathered friends.  Habitat, beaks, wingspan and bird songs are just a few of the topics that we will discuss.  Take home a fun bird project!
